This year one of our goals as a church is to grow closer to God, and the best way to do that is through reading and engaging with the Bible! You can find our daily readings that we as a church will be going through monthly here. We are so excited for this year as we purpose ourselves to KNOW God and GROW as disciples of Him.

Pastor Zachary has also added an explanation of the SOAP Bible Study Method below. This is a wonderful way to study the Bible and engage with it in a meaningful way that leads not just to a deeper understanding, but a practical step on how to apply it to our lives as well.

Lastly, if there is something that sticks out to you in your reading, we would love to hear about it and share with the Family as well. Please send insights and thoughts to abigail@christsfamilychurch.org and we would love to include some of them in bulletins and future emails!

SOAP is a simple method for reading and applying God's word to our lives.

SOAP stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer and involves four simple steps:

  • Scripture – Read a short Bible passage out loud and/or write it out.

  • Observation – What do you notice about the verses? What do you think the main message is? What verses, words or ideas jump out to you?

  • Application – Ask God how He wants you to apply the verse to your own life; how can you live it out?

  • Prayer – Pray for yourself and for others.
